celebcities2.org - Q & A

The following are the answers to questions received from participants:

Eligibility
  • The competition is open to architects and students of architecture in UIA member countries, the list of which is given on the competition web site
  • Participation can be individual or team
  • If your country is not on the list of countries organising a national jury, you will participate in your UIA Region's special group.
  • As not all UIA member countries are organising national juries, special groups have been set up to cater for participants from these countries. The selection will be made by a regional jury on the same basis as that of the national juries
  • A diploma in architecture delivered by a School of architecture recognised by a UIA Member Section qualifies the participant to take part in the Professional category.
  • Students should register in the country in which they are studying
Submissions
  • Each participant or team may present only one project.
  • The choice of site is free
  • There is no limit to the size of the town chosen
  • Participants can layout their entry on the two A3 sheets in whatever way they wish
  • Participants should consult their UIA Member Section to find out if they should present their text in the language of their country as well as in English or French
Registration and Transmission of entries
  • The registration and transmission of entries procedure will be activated between the 19 and 27 April 2006. To avoid overloading the system, participants are requested to avoid waiting until the last minute to initiate this procedure
  • The registration form will be available when the procedure is activated on 19 April 2006.
  • Participants will register for the competition at the same time as they transmit their entry
  • There is no limit to the weight of the PDF
  • Projects will be presented on 3 panels, format A3
  • At the end of a correct transmission, the participant will receive a code as proof of participation
  • A step by step guide will be available for the realisation of the PDF
Jury
  • Juries will be free to examine the entries on a screen or make print outs
  • National juries will select a number of projects according to the stipulations in Article 13 of the competition Notice.
  • In the first phase, the international jury will select the 4 best projects in each category and for each of the five UIA Regions, that is a total of 20 + 20
